Why Acrobatic arts?


We are so pleased to be bringing the Acrobatic Arts syllabus to DanceShed, we wanted to take a few moments to just let you know what it is all about!!

‘The program is based on safe and effective progressions with proven results in five divisions of AcroDance: Flexibility, Strength, Balancing, Limbering and Tumbling.  Developed with input from professionals and experts in ballet, modern dance, jazz, contortion, artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, sport acrobatics, yoga, acro yoga, pilates, physiotherapy, hand balancing and more, you will not find a more comprehensive program.  Simple thoughtful progressions take the beginner preschool level dancer from log rolls and summersaults to the advanced dancer tumbling effortlessly across the stage!  ‘

Miss Steph fell in love with this syllabus, having done Gymnastic as a child and now a passionate ‘yogi’ she wanted something that worked well along side our dance classes that complemented the dance style, and she feels the Acrobatic Arts syllabus achieves this. It is a holistic approach to acrobatics, with the students building on their own strength to achieve the moves, not being forced by the instructor. A lot of the strength building exercises come from the world of yoga and it is fully focused on achieving a balanced body and a strong technique.
